A-Level / Abitur 2026: Subject-by-Subject Preparation Guide

The final exams are the culmination of your school career. A good result opens doors — and good preparation makes all the difference.

Mathematics

Focus on Analysis (derivatives, integrals), Analytical Geometry (vectors, planes) and Stochastics (probability). Practice past papers under timed conditions. Don't rely solely on your calculator.

German / English

Practice all essay types: text analysis, discussion, creative writing. Build a repertoire of stylistic devices you can identify and explain. Read quality texts regularly.

Sciences (Physics, Chemistry, Biology)

Understand the core concepts rather than memorising facts. Draw diagrams, create concept maps. Practise calculation-based questions systematically.

History / Social Studies

Create timelines and mind maps. Practice source analysis following a structured approach. Understand cause-and-effect relationships.

General Tips

Start early (ideally 3 months before), study in groups for discussion-heavy subjects, and alone for problem-solving subjects. Use past papers. Get enough sleep.
