From Grade 5 to Grade 2: How Lisa Improved Her Maths

Lisa's Starting Point

Lisa, 15, was in year 9 at a Gymnasium in Zurich. In mathematics she had a grade 5 (insufficient) and had lost the thread.

Identifying the Problem

In the first trial lesson it quickly became clear: Lisa's foundations from year 7 were incomplete. Without this base, the current material was almost impossible to understand.

The Plan

Together with tutor Jannik, Lisa developed a 4-month plan: first strengthen fundamentals, then work through current material in parallel.

The Result

After 4 months of regular tutoring (2x per week), Lisa had a grade 2. "I never thought I'd understand maths," she says today.
